Question: I am looking for recommendations for home security systems available
in the US (Texas to be specific). I was reading about the Ademco Lynx
which seemed to have the X-10 and telephone remote features but then
somebody wrote on deja.com that you could just rip the whole control
panel out and disable it. Is that correct? What do you know about wired
home security system for? Any recommendations ?
Answer:Yes. The system is all one unit. Keypad, siren, dialer etc. A good whack with a
sledge hammer wil put it to sleep in a hurry or it can be ripped off the wall
and wires cut.
Get a system where the keypad is mounted near the entry/exit point and the
control panel in the basement or other hidden location.
Lynx is a good system but provides low level security. If you like Ademco look
into the Vista series.
