Question: I would like to install a wireless security camera system (2 or 3 cameras)
in my home. I would like to be able to view the cameras on my computer and
automatically take snap shots if a movement is detected. The X10 system can
"supposedly" do all this, but I have read that their performance and
customer service are quite bad. Is there anything else available in the
market within a similar price range (< $500)? How much is it ?
Answer:It depends on what you are looking for as I stated before. If you wish a
"professional" system, then you're going to have to go the Dealer route. If you
want to "buy something off the shelf" and have it work "out of the box", then
you should be looking at the types of systems they offer for sale at stores like
"Home Depot", "Costco", and the like. When you mentioned your "budget" figure
of around $500.00, that already pretty much places you in the latter category.
I don't know anything about "Bakson". There are a couple of participants here
that operate "on line" stores. Some restrict themselves to the continental USA
and won't ship to places like Canada or Mexico. Hang around for a little while
longer and wait for these individuals to respond to you. It would help if you
could tell us where you're from. :-)
