alone for several months. I'm thinking about a hidden camera +
movement sensor connected to a timelapse VCR with alarm input.

I need a *really* hidden camera, but sharp enough to be a valid proof
in a trial. Can you suggest me some dealer in Europe selling such security
camera equipment at a reasonable price?
Answer:You may be better of looking for a supplier who can provide the equipment
and the installation. The reason being at times it is necessary to "tweak"
camera positions. lens choices, mounting and illumination arrangementsto
provide the view you need. also you you need to plan how the monitoring and
recording will be done and where that equipment can be located and serviced.
Effective installation of clandestine cameras is a specialized field. I
would try to get a recommendation from a trusted colleague in your part of
the world.
The motion detector should work well if there will be extended periods with
no activity -- and less well during periods when there i heavy traffic in
front of the camera . You may wish to consider a digital recorder.
