Question: Has anyone here used one of these JVC CCTV ? If so, how was the
video quality? Ease of programming? Flexibility?
Answer:I don't really specialize in JVC CCTV. I've put in relatively few CCTV systems
over the years. What I've noticed is there's a lot more quality available
in the newer CCDs than what we were seeing just a few years ago. Also,
prices are more reasonable these days.
The down side of selling high end CCTV products to DIYers is the competition
from low-priced, low quality kits being sold everywhere from Office Max to
Home Depot. Very often the end user has no idea what the differences are.
However, since there are a number of DIYers who do want professional CCTV
gear, I've decided to add a bit more diversity in that area.
I'm fairly well impressed with the overall quality of the Silent Witness
line. I've had good results from Burle (RCA), Pelco, Vicon and JVC. A few
Panasonic TLRs gave less than stellar performance though.
What CCTV lines have proven most reliable in your experience? Best features
vs. price ratio? Any suggestions will be appreciated, but bear in mind my
primary interest here is in products that a relatively inexperienced DIYer
can handle. IOW, I doubt most of my clients want to wire up an AI lens
connector.
