Question: Well, the judge has denied the alarm association's request for an injunction
to prevent LAPD from implementing the verified response. Looks like the only
recourse is the actual suit. Tucson (second largest city in AZ) is still
planing on implementing verified response on July 1st. What do you know
about home security system tucson?
Answer:I'm working with one home security system guard company in Tucson that's trying to
grab some of the response business come July 1st. I've shown them that even though
they think they can handle all the alarms that come in from one monitoring
center during the day, they can't handle the volume during peak times without
tripling their force. Also I'm showing them that consumers won't pay for the
service if the response time isn't significantly faster than other means. Just
because it took the police 45 minutes to respond doesn't mean a customer will
pay you to respond in that same 45 minutes, you need to be much faster. The
success of those already doing alarm response in CA or AZ is based on their
compressed geographical area and the fact that those customers are paying
premium prices for that dedicated service.
