Question:What type of semi-conductor is used to drive the transducer in an
electronic siren, as used in home security systems?
I have two of these electronic siren units that need repair. In both
cases it is the final semi-conductor in the circuit that has gone open
circuit. The manufacturer of the units has removed the name/part no.
from the semi-conductor. Can you give me an idea as to the What type

Anyone know about home security system part?
Answer:a transistor. It'll need to be able to handle 12v at not much current
and little power. Gain I dont know, could be anything. Find yourself a
tr of the same case type, and npn or pnp, same as is in there now, and
try it. The specs needed of the tr are pretty slack. Perfect way to
recycle junk.
