Question:I once heard of a home security alarm system that telephones a group of given
telephone numbers (cell phone, pager, neighbors, etc.) if the home is broken
into. Does anyone know the name of the system and who deals in it?
Answer:The only one I have heard of is a company called FAI Security. I believe
they originated in Australia, and have spread like a bad virus since then to
(at least) England and Canada. They specialized in installing a very poor,
DRASTICALLY overpriced, minimal coverage wireless system that called your
neighbours when (if ?) the alarm triggered. Based on what I have seen of the
equipment, in no way would I personally ever recommend anyone even consider
this junk - frankly it's not professional equipment by any stretch of the
imagination !! The idea of grouping with your neighbours was supposed to be
that you all looked out for each other; in reality, it was / is simply a
sales scam to sell their crap to a lot more people. I haven't seen them for
awhile in the market; hopefully they are no longer in business....
I strongly suggest you consult a legitimate company and get a proper system
(wired or wireless) if this is the company or equipment you are thinking
of...
These people were (or are as the case may be) in my opinion no better than
Mr. Cooper and his Loxxon junk. They were more successful only because they
had a decent marketing campaign that also paid each victim for suckering in
their neighbours....
