Question: I am wanting to put a CCTV video recorder in my factory. I wanted to
simply get one single camera with audio, and have it on constantly recording
the factory floor. What is the cheapest option for me to do this?
I was thinking....
- simple black and white camera with audio.
- mount it in the corner of the factory floor.
- run a cable to a viedo recorder out the back.
- the video recorder will take extra long (do these exist?) tapes -
perhaps the video recorder will have some kind of long-play
recordability, as I do not want/need good quality images/sound, just
ledgable would be sufficient. Any suggestions?
Answer:a video cctv recorder will only record 8 hrs before you have to swap tapes.
A time lapse recorder will do more hours but cost more and you still have to
change tapes. A DVR costs about same or a little more as a time lapse recorder
and you never change tapes and they don't wear out the recording heads like a VCR
