Question: I'm wondering how many dealers actually use biometric cctv technology for
access control or any other application in security. If you don't mind
terribly, if your firm uses biometrics, please respond by letting me know what
it is and what kind of security applications that you're using it in. This
information will help me in putting together a story I'm in the process of
writing for a future issue.
Answer:The plus for security is certainly obvious. Do you anticipate the market
ever becoming such that such a technology will negate the need for the
traditional reader? If so, I'd imagine that some sort of mantrap would be
necessary to reduce the likelihood of tailgating? Any ideas on this?
This technology will sure become a big seller to government as we move
closer to the Brave New World they have in mind, no? Using this
technology, they'll be able to spot a political and domestic terrorist no
matter where they are as more and more computers come on line with biometic
CCTV connections, also as more and more of these computers are integrated with
government intelligence agencies.
