Question: I have a residential ADT system installed. Ever since I had it
installed, I hear a background noise when I make a phone call, sort of
a pulsing/hissing noise. Of couse if I call my phone comp. they will
say it is ADT & probably vice-versa. Any way to fix this. Is this
common? What are adt jobs ?
Answer:I've also seen plenty of ADT Authorized Dealer installs where the RJ-31X
wqas omitted. I'd say that most, if not all, of the ADT Corporate jobs I've
taken over had the jack. This tends to support what a few of the ADT
Corporate types who have posted here have been saying -- that the worst ADT
jobs are mainly the so-called "Aythorized Dealer" installs. I've seen some
pretty sloppy work done by one of their ADT-ADs around my area. Makes you
wonder who decides whom to "authorize" and what, if any, standards they
actually use.
