Question: Are there any ADT authorised dealers here ?
Answer:I understand where you are coming from. The ADT dealer program seems to be
a different mind-set. I've done service on and for good dealers and bad
dealers- I've installed for both also. The are some that are a credit to
any organization and there are some that are not. The "corporate installers
/service techs" that I know run the gamut of experience. A few can work on
virtually anything, the majority are very good at ADT panels and draw a blank
on some of the systems a few dealers put in. The strongest technical aspect
about ADT and a field tech is available knowledge. That tech can call ADT
and get information and manuals on any system probably ever created. ADT
Corporate has institutional knowledge beyond what even most large local
companies can obtain. The "Advanced " name you used took me aback a little-
that's one of the names I have seen.
Compared to some of the dealer programs ADT has a strength many customers
never see- should the dealer go out of business ADT will still service the
account. Many dealer programs have cut folks loose- I don't know of an
instance where ADT has. You'll run into a bit of 'anti-big company (aka "borg")'
in this NG. Don't let it get to you. Those companies didn't get big by
doing everything wrong.
