How to use Spy Camera Surveillance in the correct way?

Question: Would like to get advice on how one might set up a video surveillance security system without spending alot of cash. My idea originally was to try and use integrated motion sensitive camera and flash memory card mounted in a hallway to capture the identitiy of intruders. The advantage to this system is that it would be easy to install, no wiring and noiseless http://www.spytechs.com/spy_cameras/cyber_eye.htm very attractive package but am worried what kind of picture i will get. Also I thought of the idea of using a spy camera which would interface to an ordinary home video recorder wirelessly but trying to conceal a video recorder provide a psu and the expense of the tx/rc modules it all seems like alot of messing around and of course having to get a video activator. Then i thought of buying a cheap secondhand camcorder and somehow interfacing it up to a miniture camera like a peep hole camera which would activate upon detecting motion. Does anybody have any thoughts on how feasible this setup might be or how i might go about it. I have very limited experience of electronic circuits and its been several years since doing a partial degree in computer electronics so I'm not completely witless though not far from it. How to use Spy Camera Surveillance in the correct way?

Answer:Even a clear photo does not identify a stranger - think about it. It does not identify any person with a mask, dark sunglasses or motorcycle helmet either. Without reliable date and time ID it cannot be used in court. Also electronic cameras produce images far less clear than film.
