Question: I need a surveillance system for my home. I wish to mount a
camera or two under my eaves to surveill my front yard and
driveway and store time-lapse images for a week or two. How much
cost would I incur to use my PC to capture, process and store
these images on a multi-gigabyte hard drive?
Or would it be more practical just to buy a surveillance system
such as the Exxis, consisting of a camera, monitor and time-lapse
VCR? If I use my PC for this purpose, I would also like to send the
latest image to my web page so that I can view my property when
I'm out of town. Where can I easily find a good Mini Surveillance Camera?
Answer:I would suggest doing a web search for this question. Some of my
favorite search engines on the web are:
AltaVista: http://www.altavista.digital.com/
Lycos: http://www.lycos.com/
MetaCrawler: http://www.metacrawler.com/
Yahoo: http://www.yahoo.com/
HotBot: http://www.hotbot.com/
Excite: http://www.excite.com/
DogPile: http://www.dogpile.com/
InfoSeek: http://www.infoseek.com/
For your search, enter something similar to "surveillance cameras"
(without the quotes), and hopefully something will come up.
